Happy birthday Alice

Madame Alice Quartner was born (to a Jewish parent) in Austria 90 years ago. She is one of the survivors amongst the many victims of Hitler’s "final roundup" of German Jews. During the Holocaust, she was taken alongside with many of her friends to one of the camps. The next day, shortly before the victims were put to death; one of the Nazi soldiers looked at Alice and said ‘’ daughter of Jew; disappear before I change my mind’’ and that was how God made a way of escape for her. As much as she could remember, none of her friends made it out of the camp. Alice’s survival story is a long and interesting one. Her biography (written form) is in the making. I wish Alice all the best as she turns 90 today.
